TVAH is founder Meeta Ghuwalewala's ghee-based skincare line — built around Shata Dhauta Ghrita, ghee washed 100 times by hand, a preparation documented in the Charak Samhita. White-labelled cosmetics in 2016, ghee-based formulation began in 2019, brand launched 2026.

01 The brief

Three lines lifted straight from the homepage: 'Time-tested. Thoughtfully formulated. A quiet moment.' The site had to feel as patient as the process — a rotating literary hero ('Your skin has memory.'), a /science page that earns the price, and a /quiz that hands a recommendation back inside a minute.

  • 01 Identity, voice, and the launch range — Night Cream (Targeted Overnight Renewal), Day Cream (Asta Day Radiance, with astaxanthin), a body Moisturizer (A2 ghee + camel milk + niacinamide), a Shower Oil (A2 ghee + cold-pressed almond/coconut/castor), a Lip Shield, and a Bundle.
  • 02 A /quiz skin-finder funnel that hands off to WhatsApp concierge.
  • 03 A /science page anchored on Shata Dhauta Ghrita and the Sanskrit name (शतधौत घृत), with traceability copy: every batch numbered, every Gir cow traceable, milk hand-collected only after the calf is satiated.
  • 04 A founder-story article in Meeta Ghuwalewala's voice (~5 min read): 'I have always used things derived from my kitchen-shelf … by 2019, I began convincing my husband we should create a line of ghee-based skincare products.'
  • 05 Lead capture endpoint /api/lead → Shopify Admin GraphQL primary, Cloudflare D1 fallback.
  • 06 Exit-intent modal, sticky mobile CTA bar, and a WhatsApp float on every page.

Calm, reverent, craft-obsessed — pairs Ayurvedic language ('Shata Dhauta Ghrita') with modern dermatological precision. A purple-ink wordmark on cream, with copper-tan and warm-gold accents pulled from the ghee itself.

03 Process

Branding and engineering
at the same desk.

The compressed timeline made handoff impossible — so we didn't. AYB and Stacksmiths sat in one Slack, one Figma, one daily standup.

  1. W1–2

    Discovery

    Interviews with Meeta about her sensitive-skin journey and the 2016 white-labelling years that led her to ghee-based formulation in 2019. A literature pass on Shata Dhauta Ghrita and the Charak Samhita reference. A traceability audit of the Gir-cow milk supply.

  2. W3–5

    Brand

    'Tvacha + Aha' — the moment of delight when something truly nourishing touches your skin. A purple-ink wordmark on cream, with copper-tan and warm-gold for the ghee itself. A type system that feels literary, not clinical.

  3. W6–10

    Build

    Astro on Cloudflare Workers. Shopify Storefront + Admin GraphQL. /api/lead writes to Shopify primary, Cloudflare D1 fallback. /quiz funnel, /science explainer with the Sanskrit shloka, exit-intent modal, sticky mobile CTA, WhatsApp float, GTM (MXRKXLXK).

  4. W11

    Launch

    Five-SKU soft launch (Night Cream, Day Cream, Moisturizer, Shower Oil, Lip Shield) plus a Bundle. Hard launch with WhatsApp-first concierge support and the founder-story article on /about.

Every batch is numbered, every Gir cow is traceable, and milk is hand-collected only after the calf is satiated. The site runs on Astro + Cloudflare Workers, talks to Shopify Storefront for catalogue and Shopify Admin GraphQL for lead capture (with a D1 fallback), and uses a single WhatsApp number as the concierge channel after the quiz.
